The best way to protect children from abuse is having positive, open communication with them on an ongoing basis starting when they are young. Children normally don’t speak up if they are being abused but are more likely to if they have a trusted adult who has proactive communication with them already. Having to deal with home repairs and maintenance by yourself can be tough!  Whether you rent an apartment or own a house, it’s important to understand the basics.  Holly Kreisner, the owner of Mr. Fix-It Fast, will join us and teach us how to fix some small problems, and prevent the big ones, in our homes!  Join other single parents for encouragement and connection!

This challenge starts Friday, 5/22 and goes through Monday 5/25.

Post your PIC on This Side UP! Family’s Facebook page or email it to info@thissideupfamily.org  BY MIDNIGHT ON MONDAY, 5/25.

WHY??!!!
1.YOU COULD WIN.  All entries will be submitted for a Family FUNnection basket valued at $50  (movie tickets, pizza gift card, board game, and more)!
2.THE BIG WHY.  Because Family Time is so important and has been proven to be a key indicator of a child’s success and well-being.   Children who are positively connected to their family relationships are less likely to make poor choices and more likely to become confident, content community participants as they grow up! That relationship building starts NOW, no matter the age of your child! It’s never too early and it’s never too late to focus on family connection!  And the results are trajectory-changing, for family and community strengthening!
