This Summer, Single Side Up will offer a free finance class just for single parents.  We will cover budgeting, getting out of debt, and saving.  Single parents can WIN with money, and we want to help you!  It just takes some organization, some temporary sacrifices, and commitment.

The class will take place from June through August, 2018.  We will meet twice each month, for a total of six sessions.  One session each month will be in-person, at the TSUF Sort-It-Out Room.  The other session will be a virtual  meeting, so you can attend from the comfort of your couch!

We are offering this class to single parents who are truly committed, and who will make sure they will attend all 6 weeks.   Topics include:

• Knowing EXACTLY how much money is coming in and going out
• Knowing your debts – many people don’t realize how much debt they have
• Paying off debt
• Saving for emergencies, retirement, college, etc

The course consists of three 90 minute classroom sessions (6/23, 7/28, and 8/18) at the  TSUF S.O.R.T. It Out Room from 10-11:30 am. 1201 E 15th Street Suite 410 Plano, Texas 75074 (room is 2 doors down from our Operating Offices)

and three virtual session (6/30, 7/14, and 8/25) where you join in from home. Schedule Summary:

What is a Will?  How do wills work?  What big problems are left to my family if I pass away without a will?  The Settle Law Firm will be here to educate on the important documents you need to have in place (declarations of guardianship, a “living” will, medical power of attorney and more) to make sure you are in good shape! Leave with some documents and/or valuable resources that will help put these important pieces in place for your family!  Jnana Settle, attorney, will hold a question/answer time at the end, too! This Month's Family Value is DREAM BIG!  We will spend time making family vision boards and 2020 family bucket lists.  We will provide all materials!  Just bring yourselves and your ideas!! We'll enjoy a great evening of fun activities and family time!  Go home with a Family Tool that will help cultivate and elevate our monthly family value at home.  Yes, everything's totally FREE! 2020 has been a hard year for all of us.  Isolation, job loss, at home learning, tough health decisions, and the current political climate can make us feel like we’re farther apart than ever.   Everything has looked different this year, but there is one thing that’s still the same for everyone,  we all love our families. Every dollar you give to This Side UP! Family goes directly into supporting ALL families with at home date nights, family connection nights, parenting education, and more. We’re all learning new ways to be together and we at This Side UP! Family are so grateful to be going into our 10th year of celebrating and strengthening family.  Your donations will help us start 2021 strong with in person programming, new COVID protocols, more virtual resources, and all the tools we need to continue supporting what we all have in common- family.
