Description: A family friendly Broadway song and dance show featuring students of Plano Children’s Theatre. A portion of the funds raised will go towards the PCT trip to New York this summer.
Your favorite show tunes from Hairspray, Wizard of Oz, Annie, and more will be performed by the students of Plano Children’s Theatre. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. VIP seating which includes a complimentary PCT coffee mug, bag, or water bottle available for $12 each. Pizza available for $1/slice. Race to Nowhere is a film that focuses on the current achievement culture found in American schools. A concerned mother turned filmmaker aims her camera at the high-stakes, high-pressure culture that has invaded our schools and our children’s lives. The film points to the silent epidemic in our schools: cheating has become commonplace; students are disengaged; stress-related illness and depression are rampant; and many young people arrive at college and the workplace unprepared and uninspired. Race to Nowhere is a call to action for families, educators, and policy makers to challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare the youth of America to become healthy, bright, contributing and leading citizens.
Following the film, Academic Life Coaching will offer a short panel discussion with local education and family experts. They will present TERRIFIC ideas and practical tips on how to combat the achievement culture. You will benefit from addressing this tough topic! As you dive into this school year, this Movie Night will move your family from surviving to THRIVING and lead you towards making it a true SUCCESS!

Come enjoy art, singing, dance and more creations from youth in our community and help them make a difference in the lives of Marissa’s House orphanage in Uganda!
PLUS… Participate as a family in creating a Heart Pillow (a project of Mission Possible Kids) to be sent directly to the kids at Marrissa’s House to show them love!
*Optional $1 Raffle Tickets will be sold at the door that can be used to “buy” items. All money collected will go towards bringing a much-needed fresh water well to Marissa’s House (an orphanage in Uganda). We’ll have a blast playing good ole fashioned BINGO and winning FUN prizes. PLUS, a fun family connect activity – the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s Instrument Petting Zoo will be here for the kids to enjoy their own hands-on experience! Youth Musicians will treat us to a mini-performance… and the first 20 families to arrive (doors open at 5:45pm) will receive 2 free tickets to the kickoff concert (Sunday, 1/26) – www.planosymphony.org.
