This Side UP! Family and the Plano Public Library system are partners to equip and empower parents on This Side UP! Family Value of the Month. Spend an hour with incredible parenting experts and other parents! (You can even register for a FREE 30-minute one-on-one Parent Coaching Session following each POWER HOUR) May 8 - Effective Parent/Child Communication Whether parenting a toddler or a teenager, good communication builds self-esteem and mutual respect.  Effective Communication is critical to connecting positively with your child.  We’ll focus on learning results-oriented (and even humorous) techniques to infuse your home with positive communication and laughter.   Single Side UP! Meeting - Ask a Lawyer Night This Single Side UP! meeting is held at our S.O.R.T. It Out Room, right next to our Operations Office!  Meeting time is 6:30 pm-8:00 pm.  Space is limited.  Please register your attendance for the meeting by clicking HERE. What is a Will?  How do wills work?  What big problems are left to my family if I pass away without a will?  The Settle Law Firm will be here to educate on the important documents you need to have in place (declarations of guardianship, a “living” will, medical power of attorney and more) to make sure you are in good shape! Leave with some documents and/or valuable resources that will help put these important pieces in place for your family!  Jnana Settle, attorney, will hold a question/answer time at the end, too! Childcare registration available: Free childcare will be provided for kids ages 0 through 13 with a valid childcare registration on a first come, first serve basis!   Space is limited in all childcare rooms, so sign up early to ensure a spot.  If using childcare, please arrive a few minutes early so you can check-in your children before class starts at 2pm.

2020 has been a hard year for all of us.  Isolation, job loss, at home learning, tough health decisions, and the current political climate can make us feel like we’re farther apart than ever.   Everything has looked different this year, but there is one thing that’s still the same for everyone,  we all love our families. Every dollar you give to This Side UP! Family goes directly into supporting ALL families with at home date nights, family connection nights, parenting education, and more. We’re all learning new ways to be together and we at This Side UP! Family are so grateful to be going into our 10th year of celebrating and strengthening family.  Your donations will help us start 2021 strong with in person programming, new COVID protocols, more virtual resources, and all the tools we need to continue supporting what we all have in common- family.
